Yes, when you look back, Daihatsu, Proton, Chevrolet, along with Dodge, Chrysler etc have all pulled out of the UK and European market over the past 10 years or so.
Both Isuzu and Subaru have reduced their footprint in the UK and Europe.
All to a certain degree are/were somewhat niche manufacturers, but none the less it reduces the choice of vehicles available.
Now with Mitsubishi pulling out, one has to question whether the likes of Suzuki , SsangYong and Jeep may also be looking in the same direction.
It is even rumoured Nissan could pull out of Europe as well:
The diminished choice of vehicles that will remain from the major volume manufacturers is certainly bad for both consumer choice in general and choice on the scheme in particular.
