A PHEV would do me just now, I rarely travel more than 30 miles on a journey. All my family, (mostly) and friends stay within 30 miles and so are all our hospitals. So with a PHEV having an all electric range of 30 miles I would be doing 99% of my journeys all electric.

Ford have been very late to the EV revolution and they could easily be lost to the European market but luckily for them a lot of American people don’t want to know about climate change and are quite happy filling up their “gas guzzlers” so they could possibly survive, as a smaller company, on American sales alone.

Ford and VW have an alliance to build 8 million CVs and produce new electric car so maybe they realise third weaknesses and are looking to others for help, not sure what VW get out this, probably lots of money.
