@Martino, is it having wires dangling everywhere that you’re worried about or it being stolen?
To tackle the issue of wires everywhere, they can easily be rooted behind the head-lining by simply pushing the wire up into it where it meets the windscreen. It causes no damage at all and keeps the wires out of the way. From there do the same down the A-Pillar and then run the wire in the most convenient way to a 12v or usb socket. I usually tuck the wire behind the steering column and then use small ‘3M Command hooks‘ to run the wire along any plastic trim. I also use a couple of these hooks on the windscreen by the camera so that when the sucker drops off as they invariably do, the hooks catch it and prevent it from falling.
There are many YouTube videos to help, possibly even for your car.
As for them being stolen, I never take mine out and as yet (had one for about 7 years) never had an issue. However, many newer cameras have quick release on them so it’s simple to take them out if you wish.
Nextbase are certainly one of the most popular brands as they are so good but many other brands such as Garmin and BlackVue are on par. Even one of the more budget brands such as Motorola and Binatone (£30+) are worth having. Something is better than nothing. In fact, we use cheap £15 cameras off eBay for the rear as the picture is good enough should it be needed. I’ve also used Motorola cameras and, for the price, don’t have any issues.
I hope this helps.
? I will be remembered for nothing but had great fun doing it ?
