DUKWs look seriously interesting vehicles. Four litre petrol straight-six which, they say, will push its six tonnes or so along at 50mph on land and 6kt in the wet stuff. Flat-bottomed hull would aid straightline progress but, afloat, they do not like turning (had an uncle who drove one during WW2). Would love to have a go in one!
