    Don’t forget that a large % of the cost of one litre of diesel is fuel duty plus VAT.

    Currently 58p per litre is duty, VAT adds a further 11.5p.

    VAT has already been added to the cost of the fuel before duty and more VAT is added, so you are paying the government about 75p per litre before you even think about the cost of oil, refinery costs, transport, petrol station profit etc.

    In reality, it’s cheaper now than it has been for years and may come down a few more pence, so stop whinging! ?
