A good few years ago, we were very lucky to be invited to a big hotel industry conference held in Monte Carlo. Well, it would have been impolite to say no, wouldn’t it? Only there for a few days but … wow! Looked after wonderfully by hosts; helicopter transfer from Nice; decent room at the Hermitage hotel. Absolutely brilliant few days – some work, some play. Culminated in big bash at Salle de Etoiles, with roof sliding open for fireworks. Monte Carlo is just such a brilliant place – spectacularly situated, beautifully cared for; everywhere overlooks that amazing harbour. Delightfully decadent. Loved it.
