Clipped wings

    Hi JS,

agree that stubborn oldies will have to rapidly adapt but my youngest daughter is a primary teacher in london who whatsapped at lunch time to say there were barking coughs in her class and they are now forced child minders for working mums due to governments failure to do the right thing. Stable door closed, horse already bolted. Story of the last two months and we all pay the price. Older daughter has a delightful toddler that we can no longer visit and is pregnant..as a pilot we used the philosophy of Avoid, Trap, Mitigate threats/ mistakes. Complacency and ineptitude missed the avoid and attempted trap is at least two weeks too late. Mitigate was the absurdly callous “ herd immunity” policy of last week that generated condemnation and dismay, which has resulted in abrupt back peddling. If they had spent a tiny fraction of the 350 billion on checking visitors from hotspots and our tourists from their skiing holidays in Italy then I suspect the current dire situation could have been delayed making Trapping feasible. Chinese and Italian doctors are horrified at our response.
