philjb, stephanie, dont get me wrong i agree the packs are just a way for the manufacturers to make money.
at least motability to an extent have twigged this and now offer options for some manufacturers like mini to get the pack at a reasonable cost, £580 is better than £3000 for the comfort/nav+ option.
which i must admit has a lot of stuff i wont use or need. wireless phone charging for one, i turn my phone off when driving and its an old blackberry so i dont think its capable of wireless charging.
i remember in 1980 my first new car order a vw golf c, the base model the radio cassette was an extra lol.
