There they go again with their con of the century “100% renewable energy”? I’m still looking out for one of those filters you put on your electric sockets that filters out all the fossil fuel and nuclear electricity and just leaves 100% renewable. Just suppose there was such a thing, how long in a given 24 hour day would it be for we remove such a filter… about 6 hours at most I would guess, less so in Winter or if I had an EV. ? Now if Shell Energy were to announce tomorrow it’s closing down all it’s oil and gas platforms and wells by the end of the year then yes I would believe their 100% renewable energy providers but until then, pull the other one. Oh I forgot, perhaps Shell are planting a couple of saplings in the Brazilian rain forest to off set carbon. LOL.
I take it you not a fan Chris, at the end of the day the world has a pollution problem, this country has a pollution problem. Companies like Octopus are 100% green energy, but as you say its all mixed up in the system, its not perfect but at least some are trying.
It’s not that I’m not a fan its just as far as power companies are concerned there in it for the money, nothing more, nothing less.
We had a big surge in solar panels a decade ago but I’ve not seen so many of late so what’s the problem there? I’d love an all electric car but we must be wary of politicians, king’s and queens who tell us how to live like hermits while they carry on with the good life after all travelling by car or plane would be much more pleasant if we were to get all the working classes off the road and out of the air and just get them on their pushbikes to go to work.
The daily news goes on and on and on about plastic in the sea but that’s mostly an Asian problem as a lot of counties out there dump rubbish in the sea, granted we use to, but not now, but were the ones paying for plastic bags, not them.
Then there’s all the European companies falling over each other to move production of cars and aircraft out to China while China burns more coal to keep production going and Europe can boast how we’ve cleaned up our air.
No its not because I’m not a fan its just because there’s money in muck and commerce is making a mint out of it with tax breaks subsidies but how about spending a bit of money for solar panels on our roofs for a change if there that good but no were not going to see that because were the ones who have to pay and free electricity from the Sun just ain’t on and you can be sure should I find a suitable PHEV I would be using electric to its full advantage not like commerce taking the tax breaks and running their PHEW’s on petrol and diesel only.
I rest my case. ?
