thank you roly and Smallcar. Hoping the Honda CR-V might be up to the mark. My wheelchair folds but it’s how the hoist gets it into the car seems to be part of the problem for any car, hybrid or otherwise. I really wanted to have a more environmentally car if I possibly can. (Incidentally we have had a Hyundai Ioniq and it does a fantastic 70+ MPG especially on long trips). And the other issue is our drive is only small/(tiny!) and I fear that a giant car like the Outlander would stretch out onto the pavement – not a good idea (I certainly know what it’s like to try and get along pavements in a wheelchair only to find that they’ve been obstructed by cars parked on them).
