Spoke with Motability customer service regarding the above subject.
Their answer was as follows:-
Motability would like you to use the RAC in case of breakdown. This is because they can work very closely with RAC in providing replacement vehicles etc. They have a dedicated link with RAC mobility breakdown which makes it much more practical to put things in place.
