going off topic a bit but when you mentioned hamster wheels
I was watching the news last night talking a lot of baloney as per about wanting criminals who got 12 month sentences or less to do unpaid work instead
I’ve always been in favour of hard labour or at the very least , you get your full sentence and rather then staying in your cell all day watching sky or in the gym turning into a mini Hulk so you can terrorise people even easier on their release
why don’t they give them a full sentence and each day they get shipped out in buses and pick up dog ?, dig new roads , cut the grass , all the manual labour jobs that councils are cutting back on cos they don’t have the money
prison service charge the council £1 per hour , the prisoners get nothing but fresh air and time to reflect , the local area gets lots of well needed work done and the residents get to live in a nicer place ??
or at the very least build a massive dynamo system and make them pedal 12 hours a day with the electricity passed back to us all ??
