I had one (1.6 diesel ETG auto) as my last Motability car, did over 70k miles. 48mpg not driven gently and like a tardis, not huge on the outside, massive inside. Mutch as Mitch said, very adaptable, comfy and well finished. I had no interior problems or other issues except:
1. The alternator/tensioner belt broke at about 57,000 miles, I think it was a seized tensioner? Collected by the RAC & the dealer had it two days. Usually they were excellent at providing a courtesy car at short notice, but not that time, so Motability provided a Quashqai on hire without any drama.
2. The front left wheelarch broke away at its lower rear mount – its only one screw holding it there. Happened within the first month of ownership, the dealer insisted I had kerbed it, so wouldn’t fix it under warranty. A quick look (with him) of the 5 cars in his used dealer stock showed all but one car had the same issue, he still insisted it was not a fault of the car, but user abuse. The RH side was looking like it would do the same, basically the edge of the arch rode up over the lip of the wing & kept moving further up as the car flexed, placing stress on the arch/screw. Anyway, I didn’t pay to get it fixed, just bought thin 5-6mm rubber edging to put over the inner lip of the wing & put the arch under tension so it didn’t pop out and rub on the paintwork.
Come replacement time we didn’t even look at the Grand Picasso as we had had 2 over 7 years and fancied a change. Now have a Ford S-Max.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.
