I think that the Tucson is a very nice looking SUV (I actually prefer the pre facelift version, looks wise) but I cannot understand for the life of me why the top spec models aren’t available through Motability. Every model variant, including the top spec Premium SE models with the higher power output 2.0 Diesel auto and 4WD fall within the £35k price cap. I’m sure that they would be very popular on the scheme, but the current best models deemed adequate for Motability customers are no longer competitive AP wise and you can get much better for your money elsewhere. Add to this the problem that Hyundai is one of the manufacturers that doesn’t allow you to add options, which means that if the best model you can get doesn’t have a feature you’d like you are stuffed, I’m surprised that Hyundai aren’t lobbying Motability hard to rectify this.

What is it with these floating displays, personally i prefer them integrated but more and more seem to be floating 🙁

The boot is the same, which is a shame as at the sides they could utilise the hard plastic blankers for bucket storage to hold bottles. Also no ski hatch, and the seats cannot be folded from the boot. Hard to believe they’ve made no changes in this area. The other thing i’ve noticed with the one i have as a courtesy car is it doesn’t have impressive storage, it’s ok, but has less than my Seat Leon, even the centre console on the Tuscon is smaller and has less storage… quite a crime for such a bigger car.

My biggest gripe, and the reason i cannot consider the Tuscon as my next vehicle, is they don’t provide a trim or option for the front passenger seat to have lumbar support…. maybe they will in this next gen.
