‘All mobility cars have a tracker , not a black box , there just not on all the time , we know this as we lost the car in london on a night out , rang motability to ask if it had a tracker and to give us the street it was parked on , not only did they direct me to the car they told me all motability cars are fitted with one at the dealership before delivery but its only switched on when motability need it to be’

I very much doubt that this is true. I can’t see them paying to fit something that is only used in this rare scenario and, if true, we would have heard about it long ago.

Most modern cars can be tracked if they have a built in SIM, most do these days, whether its Motability, private or business.

Indeed, I agree. However, the other posters just accept it without question. No wonder the mis-information extends to the press.

This poster was talking about a dedicated tracker.

                Chemtrails turning the frogs gay!

Did you know, the moon landing never happened. It’s faked. The plate you can personally ping with your laser? Has always been there, it’s just a natural mirror that happened to line up perfectly, potentially left there by the reptilians. It was directed by Stanley Kubrick at the far edge of the disc we live on, roughly 100 miles from the eternal ice ring around our planetary disc that nobody is allowed to come close to.

.. sometimes the lack of, lets say, facilities is disturbing. Ignoring the incredible illegality of an installed tracker without consent, what would be the point in the first place?

Quite obviously this is utter drivel by someone who just wants to feel important for a minute. Anyone with even a little bit of critical thinking left will immediately notice that this would not be compatible in any way, shape or form with any data protection law including the UK GDPR.

It’s not unlikely, it’s completely, 100% impossible. And, much like with the “fake moon landing”, imagine how many people need to know about this who never said a single thing. Be it MB whistleblowers, or any technician ever working on a new MB car.

Unless of course these trackers are fitted by men in suits and sunglasses, at night, sneaking into a dealership to compare VINs to find the MB customer vehicles and wire a tracking device that is so advanced, that no technician ever finds it. Maybe they even have weird metallic lollipops that flash a light, so the mechanics just forget what they saw, since one of these “Men in Black” sits at every dealership across the UK making sure that the trackers are fitted.

Unless there’s specific reference to this in the terms this would be a huge breach of GDPR I would imagine

Any thing that is post on facebook must be taken with a large handfull of salt over the shoulder.

Sadly the folk of Face book take it as true.🙄

Not quite true Motability does not fit a black box tracker unless you have done something wrong this was known about for many years, there of course things like your mobile phone and some cars like Mini have a GPS sos button in case you break down.

Motability cars do not have trackers as a standard feature, but they may be fitted in certain circumstances, such as if there is a high risk of misuse, if the customer lives in a care home or at a different address.

Anyway, as its me, I will add my slant on the relevant FB post.

“As if Motability wil tell a disabled person to go and locate/take bacck a car if its been stolen!

Modern vehicles be it private or Mobility are fitted with a manufactures black box, the authorities are able to access the data.

I am not keen on Mobility drive smart which could be imposed on us at any time on newer lease contacts, it really putting off leasing another Mobility vehicle.

Unfortunately I have suffered a brain injury and occasionally I get confused and often say the wrong thing.

If Motability have fitted a tracker without your prior knowledge then it would indeed be a GDPR breach and which is why I would take this with a pinch of salt.

If it was ever proven that they had then they would be liable for many millions in compensation.
