The £350 grant for renters closed on 31st March and was relaunched in April, under slightly different rules and the grant amount upped to £500.
The new rules also allowed customers to who applied before 1st of April can reapply for higher £500 grant with some caveats shown below.
I would highly image Ohme applied for the before installing your charger 15 months ago and were subsequently paid the grant on installation. The rules are clear though
“Transition to the new platform
The previous grant management portal closed to customer applications on 31 March 2026.
Customers who applied for a flats and renters grant or residential landlord chargepoint grant before 1 April can reapply for the higher £500 grant rate by registering for a new account.
The old application would be cancelled and the new one assessed.
Customers cannot reapply for the higher rate if their chargepoint has already been installed.
If you do not wish to re-apply, your installer will be able to fit your chargepoint and claim the grant on the current portal (up to £350 per socket) until it closes for claims on 26 May.
After that date your application will expire and you will need to submit a new
Timescales for assessing applications and claims
Initially we estimate that it will take up to 10 working days to assess applications and claims submitted on the new platform.
Customers must not have their chargepoint installed until receiving notification from OZEV that they are eligible for a grant. We will notify your installer at the same time.
