I have to say these cars seem like pretty big disappointments with some of the other options on the scheme. Even the top ID.5 doesn’t include surround cameras. Equally the Cupra Tavascan is pretty bad value too.

I have no idea why anyone would go for them with their pretty expensive price points for what you get. The EV5 and EV3 seem like better purchases.

Depends what you mean by surround cameras, which typically refers to 360 cameras and birds eye etc. Then upper spec VW Group cars (ID5, Taviscan, Enyak….) have 360 cameras, but not,

Blind view cameras, which are operated on indicator function and seen on Hyundai/Kia and MG have Bind view cameras in addition to 360 camera on top spec models.

I meant the full surround cameras which arent available on the scheme. I cant believe even the £7999 black edition ID.5 doesnt include those features especially when you look at something like a Kona that does but is £2349.

IMO 360 camera should be on every car sold today.

              Dashcam…

That and a Heads Up Display (HUD) should be mandatory.

Especially the Dashcam, no problems with privacy at all. I reckon my tone deaf singalong would drive any would be hacker…mental.

These things should be mandatory imho

                1. Dashcam with recording and easy access to files. No need for privacy worries any system should be able to not record any audio it’s mostly a waste of space on the card.

                2. Parking sensors front and rear

                3. 360 camera and blind spot indicators

                4. Ban touchscreen only HVAC controls. MG got it right with the ability to map HVAC to steering wheel buttons

It used to worse, you had to pay extra to get lane keep on the ID’s, Cupra and Skodas despite them having the hardware in them. My old ID.3 you could enable it with a code change.
