The National Lottery operator Allwyn has teamed up with the American lottery allowing people in the UK to take part in the American Powerball lottery which has jackpots up to £1 billion. The new game will be drawn 3 times a week at a cost of £4 per ticket.

Im not happy about this as we have played the same numbers since the lottery started in the 1990’s. If we wanted to add this game to our direct debit we would have to pay an extra £48 every 4 weeks. Can you imagine seeing your number come up in the draw but not having a ticket.

I only ever buy a Euromillions ticket when I feel lucky. And I only ever feel lucky when the jackpot is over £100m!

I’m clearly not lucky!! Although, I am starting to feel lucky when a jackpot of £1bn comes about!

In America the Lottery is awarded and then taxed.  I would love to see how that works if you win over here

As for winnings, we spend around £50 a month on lottery, Thunderball and Euromillions. We pay by direct debit so never miss a draw, winnings are paid into bank account a few days later. I’d say most months we probably get around £25 ish back, sometimes less very occasionally more, most we ever won was around £500 on Euromillions.
