@Menorca Mike While not a tesco shopper, I am sure you will find such joints in the cold meat fridge’s. Just be cautiously aware that it is gammon and not some compressed gammon meat. For 2 people and some left over for sandwiches, I would say 1.5 kg or 2kg which is roughly 4.5 pounds in weight.
Don’t forget to soak over night in cold water to leech out some of the salt.

October 22, 2025 at 8:00 am #316095Mike in Tesco they used to sell easy carve joints, beef, gammon, lamb, chicken crown..
They come in a foil tray, just unpack pop them in as instructed on wrapper sorted, we use them sometimes if just the Wife and I..
Excellent value, easy to cook and as described easy to carve, tastes great too..

Most meat you cook for 20 min per pound and 20 mins for the oven. Or follow the printed instructions!
If you can, go to a butcher and 750g will see you right.

October 22, 2025 at 11:49 am #316120Not sure about that as I find it the other way around these little joints are soft, moist, cut thick or thin, as a full on joint always seems to be dry, tuff and quite difficult to perfect..
Guess it’s all down to the chef, and how it’s been culled..
Well at least you got a few ideas now Mike, might be better getting a joint because if you want sandwiches next day, these little joints, well half is eaten as carved..😆

October 28, 2025 at 4:54 am #316360Stew and dumplings is my favorite by the way the other day at a friends had chunky cod fillet and mushy peas from farm foods they were lovely she said the mushy peas you do in the microwave and add hot water they were very nice 👌
October 28, 2025 at 5:07 am #316361Mike I’ve recently started eating cod fillets, (first time since primary school, and dinner ladies trying to force feed it to me👀), I’m having them any way they come frozen, in breadcrumbs/batter or fresh fillets..
The best so far I found are Iceland own brand luxury in batter, (in the air fryer) I’m having flavoured rice with them, seems to be working great for shedding weight.
October 28, 2025 at 7:30 am #316366Has anyone had the mushy peas from farm foods ?
