Just in case anyone needs to know. The GCP will not be paid if one of the keys is missing, parcel shelf missing or no EV charging cable given back with the car.

Quite right too
June 2, 2025 at 10:58 am #306118I’ve always knew about the spare key but I wonder about the parcel shelf?
The parcel shelf for my cars always spend there whole 3 years of there lives sitting in my attic because there in the way of my scooter but there brand new when I put them back in the car when it goes back. Problem is though, I can’t get into the attic so can’t be sure 100% the shelf doesn’t get damage by a member of my family rummaging around up there.
I wonder if that would come under wear and tear due to disability, its always gone back in the car as it left it on the day of collection but you never know. LoL

As long as you replaced the parcel shelf when you return the car, I think it is highly unlikely that any damage would be spotted and, even if it was, Motability would probably allow it under fair wear and tear. I agree with @Kjid5 though, that essential items that are missing should be replaced at the customers expensive or, if not, the GCB should cover that cost. Losing an item is not fear wear and tear.

July 1, 2025 at 1:22 pm #307554I am fuming, I returned my car yesterday and, honest mistake, forgot to put parcel shelf back in.
I have driven over to the dealership to put the shelf in the car less than 24 hours later.
The car will be sitting there for a couple of weeks before being picked up.
Fair enough I just didnt bother or it was badly damaged or i wasnt in time , but none of this is true. Motability are money grabbing a’h*les holding on to funds on extremely unreasonable grounds.
Im so angry and upset.
July 1, 2025 at 1:22 pm #307557I do agree, but if you make a mistake and forget the parcel shelf, and take it the next day, well before the car gets picked up, and they still dont pay you, thats totally unreasonable.
Considering the have about 4 billion in reserves of our money, and tax payers money, thats not on. Im having to complain to the financial ombudsmen
