Absolutely love it and can’t find fault no matter how hard I try. End

Honestly, yes I’ve only had it six days and it’s been flawless including the app which I’ve used to preheat the car at times I didn’t need too just to make sure it works. It is so comfortable and is full of tech. The seats are really soft and wide*. The climate settings are so easy to use as they are all in a row of easy to see and use buttons. The screens are great, crisp clear and uncluttered and have a great bonus feature as it’s all Google. At Tesco the other day while the other half was in doing the shop I sat into a nice warm car watching snooker on BBC iPlayer 😄 and another wait I watched prime TV all on the infotainment screen. Hey Google is flawless and has done every command I’ve asked if it. Although I am regretting telling it to make fart noises to amuse the kids, as they are now driving me round the bend with it 🤣

The digital mirror is good, rear visibility is not great, but it ain’t bad, so I use mirror during the day and digital at night as I find it better in the dark, look it’s not night vision but you can see more with it at night. And my god have I missed auto hold and lane keep assistance. I did have a warning light the other morning driving down the motorway were lane keep assistance turned off but ACC continued. A quick Google at my destination on you tube on the infotainment screen as you do when you can lol. Turns out it was a good warning as the camera turned off due to low strong winter sun and a wet road directly in front of me, return journey all worked again perfectly.

So many options for setups and when done the steering wheel and buttons behind it have it all tbh. The sound system is brilliant, I love the 360° sound option. The massage seat is ok, tbh I would prefer if my butt got a bit of a workout and not just lumber 😂.

Comfort. It’s so comfortable, the seats are great and the ride soaks up everything. It is the most comfortable car I’ve had. Bit of wind noise at higher speeds. That is the only real grumble. Tbf the e3008 was abnormally quiet to the point where it blew up and scared the crap out of us 🤬

Space. This car has a severe case of ioniq 5 syndrome. It looks small but the amount of room inside is insane, when you look over your shoulder it just looks massive in the back and it is. OH sat in the back yesterday and said she preferred it. And the centre arm rest is very good for the kids, they love the car and Googles fart noises and jokes. 1st grumble and it’s only because I’m human and we have to grumble. The boot is boxed in, if they made it wider so that they mould the side walls around the wheel arches you would gain about 10-12 inches in width and about 20ltrs volume albeit around the wheel arches. I just think it a trick missed. Yes the boot is very low but has no effect on me. That’s all I could fault and tbh it’s nothing.

Looks. I’m not fussy, the e3008 is stunning the scenic is nice. I didn’t get a choice of colour but I’m happy with the silver/grey colour it came in. Black roof would have been nice. The interior is bright and airy and would be with or without glass roof.

Range. Big sigh, then big memory. As it stands I’m looking at 200 range as it was charged when I picked up. Then I remembered that dealer apologised as it was set to 80% so not a full charge 😄 so I’m looking at 240ish and that is in this bad weather spell. I’ve done 123 miles about 82 on motorway at 72mph and everything on and in temperature from -2 to 7 including 45 motorway miles during the tail end of that storm with heavy rain and strong wind. Currently showing 2.8 miles pkw. So I’m very happy with that. It will only improve. I’m thinking 240 winter and 300 in summer.

I absolutely love this car and couldn’t be happier.

      * You cannot consider this car unless you spend some time in it. There is a gap between the centre console and dashboard. Below the infotainment screen is a phone charger which sits out. It has a very sharp edge which really cuts into your knee. It’s bad, it’s a deal breaker if you can’t do one of two things. If your small you might be sitting forward enough so your leg sits on the side of the charger plate. That may be ok or in my case 5’11 and 15 stone back enough that your knee can sit in the gap. I had to put the seat back a little further than normal to do this and the first few days I was a bit meh. But quickly got used to it then realised the big benefits of it. 1. My legs are a bit straighter which I now find better. 2. Well us men have dangly bits and if you’re in the gap you can mansplian and after a long time in the car I realised that I like it as it’s a lot more comfortable as it is a bit more airy down and around there lol.

But you would need to check. If your leg/knee falls on that sharp corner it’s a no. You wouldn’t stick it.

Edit. Forgot to add. The drive selector stork beside the steering wheel. I did have reservations but now using it I think it’s better placed and easier to use. Mind I have flicked it a few times thinking I was wiping the window screen. And it rolls and rolls. It has three regen settings 3 being the strongest and 0 being off. I’m convinced that where I live and my driving style I can get better range by coasting. The Kona could be switched off but the e3008 couldn’t and I didn’t like that.

Time to empty the battery and see exactly what the range is. Same drive as Kona and e3008. 200 miles motorway at 75 mph, about 10 miles city. Heat 21 fan 2, radio on. It’s frosty 1 degrees, dry with little wind.

Kona done it e3008 couldn’t get back without a charge. Both very similar once range goes to 0. With heating and radio off 12 miles at 60 mph, 4 miles turtle mode. 2 miles speeds up to 50 mph, 2 miles at up to 30. Both gave about 1/2 mile up to about 17 mph then it’s time to charge. Always in winter and both times have been mostly dry.

Glad you have found a car, you can mainly be positive about and with no faults.

And that’s that 100% to 1%. And some strangeness.

Left home with 100% = 305 miles. Home to motorway 1mile, motorway to Dublin 101 miles, drive round Dublin 8 miles. Arrived with 48% = 120 miles left. So used 52% and 185 miles. Dry, temp at start 2 deg back at 7 deg. Heat at 21 fan speed 1. Radio on, all on and same way down and back.

So I wasn’t going to get home with this figures. Put home address in satnav and said * i would get home with 2% and would need a charge * . The car must have calculated what I used down and thought I would need a charge. I refused it and sat off.

Arrived home with 8% = 27. Same way home same settings. So 185 miles down and 93 miles back. So that’s strange. When home I head back to the motorway to empty battery. Range disappeared at 8% battery. I turn things off and go to eco mode speed down to55- 60mph and got 13 miles at that speed. Back towards home now at 3% drive around the area for 2 miles AVG speed about 18mph that’s when 1% showed and I took the 1/4 mile home and charged.

Basythe same as the Kona and e3008 12ish miles at reasonable speed and 2-3 at low speeds. No turtle mode, which is strange as both other cars had it so that could lead to a false thinking of there’s more, if it didn’t come on at 1% its not there as the other two would kick in around 3%.

So now I know exactly what I can get, and at those speeds at those distances that good. I’m going to do the same run on Saturday at 65mph.

I done a fair bit of thinking on the way back as it was clear the range wasn’t dropping like going down. I’m now convinced that the Belfast to Dublin road is predominantly up hill, a small gradient but enough to hammer range. Also the way down I know I’d a bit of a tail wind as the wind noise from the mirrors was very noisy going down and on the way back it was road noise that was predominant, so a bit of head wind. Mind it was hard to tell by looking at trees.

Edit. The car has been charging exactly one 2pm-3pm hour and has went from 1 to 9% = 32 miles and will take another 12hrs 13mins to 100%

Edit. Again. 2.8 mipkw whole journey.

Cheers folks. The car was absolutely faultless in that near 5 hour drive. All driving aids spot in and so comfortable.

                    @declan
something happened when I got to Dublin that made me think of you and your heating issues. The section where I have put **. When I got to Dublin and pulled up at the beach I put my home address in the sat nav and it told me I would need to charge, I refused and after a good few minutes I noticed the car was getting cold, I put my hand over the vent and it was blowing cold air so I turned it off for about 30 minutes and when back on it was warm again.

I believe that the car thought I wouldn’t have enough range to get  home so has override my settings and turned the heating off. I’m thinking that because it asked me four times to try eco mode because it thought I wouldn’t get home. It is Google software is it is smart lol. Any just a thought incase your car is doing similar. Easy to workout,  If you’ve plenty of range does your heat work, if you’re borderline range is it cold?

Excellent stuff Des. In my naivety I thought the electric cars would be a lot smarter and accurate based on knowing my driving style by now (after 3 months) and the averages during particular weather conditions (terrain aside). I don’t think that my heating issues are relatable, Des. Firstly because I doubt the smartness of the Pug, but also because I haven’t ever used the satnav for any journeys, so it doesn’t know how far or where I’m going. Since last Thursday and my Belfast run the wife has just been tootling about and the range looks to be absolutely dire and the gauges are dropping like a stone. I’m gonna charge it up to 100% tonight, reset the trip meter/consumption and monitor it over the next few days… We’ll see what my next step is.

I rang my dealers yesterday and they said that the first diagnostic booking they have is…. 2nd January!

Interesting that the GOM stated 305 miles, Des, which is probably about 70 miles less than the wltp. Whereas the E3008 always displays the wltp (327 miles and more) after every top up to 100%. That fuels our disappointment when the range plummets but probably shows how dumb the car is. On the contrary, the Scenic looks to have a real world figure already considered, which is great.

Declan the e3008 will always show 326, as you say it ain’t smart enough. The Kona would always adjust my range after a full charge and the scenic does the same.

Ps I ment to say this about something you mentioned a while ago. My partner also has severe anxiety in the car, all cars. It’s a recent thing of about a year and tbh it’s causing a bit of grief between us.

The app didn’t work this morning so couldn’t precondition. Deleted app and reinstalled signed in in all of about 70 seconds and it turns out they made a few cosmetic changes to the app. Now the car in the app is the same colour as my car and its working fine.

It’s the little things that make a great experience even better lol.

Des, how are you finding the interior quality of the Scenic in comparison to the Peugeot? I sat in an Austral in the showroom last year and concluded that the materials and dash were less “premium” looking and feeling than the 3008 GT Line that I was in at the time.

@declan there wouldn’t be much on the market let alone the scheme with a more premium interior than Peugeot. But they pulled a trick IMHO. They used so much cheap fabric but still managed to make it look premium. The Peugeot is all style and very little substance, the scenic has a bit of style and tons of substance. I thought the open cabin would have put me off, it did in the ioniq 5, but the kit sung me and I’ve absolutely no regrets.

I thought I would have missed that tight cockpit feeling out quite the opposite. The big airy cabin is great. The e3008 is so well put together but there are no squeaks or rattles in the scenic either.

Right told the kids I’d take them to a park, one that is 151 miles away. I love being in this car, kids are good at long drives too.

My second last charge showed 100% = 345 before park run. Last charge after park run 100% = 290 miles so it is adopting.

It was warm and dry on for about 1/4 of the run then it rained so wipers on and heat set at fan 2 20 degrees. I stuck to 65mph except for about 10 miles around the M50 it was around 55.   I got 3.1 so would got me 240 all on motorway. Before I charged it had done 182 miles and gom was showing 81 miles left.

I did charge in the back but had stopped calculating as it was a long day. Range is good, but the difference in 65 mph compared to 75mph is astonishing tbh. And it was a very relaxing drive. The seats are great, the most comfortable I’ve been in, as is the car itself.

Now for something I wasn’t expecting which was equally exciting as it was frightening. I had the car sat to activate assist and as I was approaching a round about the car started to slow down as I approached. There was no cars so scenic had nothing to follow. I’ve a clear view so just let it happen, mind my foot was hovering over the pedals and a light grip on the steering wheel so the car could turn itself. A bit nervous but I let it do it’s thing.

It slowed down, turned through the roundabout still slowling, I indicated where I wanted to go, it turned off and then started speeding up again. That was weird. I’m going to try it again soon.

It was the A1 going to M1 so it was the second last roundabout and then the big curved slip road on to the M1. Fascinating stuff if not a bit hairy. I absolutely love this car, best I’ve ever had. Have a intermittent problem with the electric seat not recalling as it slides back and forward on entering and exiting the car. Only happened 4 times. There is a button on the side of the seat. Press it and all seat options appear in main screen, just press recall and it goes back to my setting. 3 seconds to fix.

App had to be deleted 3 times and reinstalled but they appear to be doing a few tweaks including the car picture in the app now being the same colour as my car. It works and has done every command I’ve sent.

I had a full charge yesterday and I’m going to try and just stick to my typical driving to see how the range goes. But if I stick to 65 on motorways then I’d imagine a range of mixed driving giving around 240 in cold and wet weather.

V2L will be the death of me. I decided to have a look through the online manual through the app and it says the car has V2L. Unlike Peugeot it goes on to explain it all in detail including where the adapter is stored in the tool kit. It has the picture/graphics of the scenic with all the explanations on how and when to use it and set it up via the infotainment screen.

Oh I’m excited so goes out and there’s no adaptor and searched the settings on the infotainment screen and there’s no mention of it. They are messing with my head.

Des, I popped up to the big smoke on Friday and test drove a Scenic Alpine. Loved the way it drove and how smooth and linear the acceleration was too. It felt so much less ponderous and heavy on the road than the E3008. The google based info system looks and works great and the room in the back is just tardis like. How do they do that? I was keeping an eye on the battery percentage as I was driving and it looked to be dropping at half the rate of my Pug! Overall, it’s a really nice package.

I have to say though that I prefer the closed in nature of the Pug to the more open and airy feel of the Scenic. The Scenic is indeed a comfortable car, but after getting back in the Pug, it just felt more premium and the seat more supportive and comfortable. Funnily enough, my wife said that the front seat experience felt like a “level up” from the Scenic! I can see what she means, but conversely she was ranting about the Scenics’ space in the back and that fantastic armrest function! We had a sit in the Iconic spec and that sunroof is spectacular. I didn’t like the light coloured, meshy seats though. Looks like they could be hard to keep and might lack durability? Just a thought. Another point is that the seating position is lower than in the Pug, when we both prefer to be higher up.

That aside, the important thing to us is range and on that point, there is no contest, obviously. I’m guessing that the Scenic is putting up about 50-60 more miles than the Pug, albeit from a slightly bigger battery. That extra mileage is hard to look past.

Dunno where we are heading with all this…

Have ordered the Iconic in Flame Red with black roof and due to collect on 7/4/25.  Can’t wait.

Hi all sorry (and apologies) if this seems like a thread hijack but I have the Renault Scenic e-tech and  am having no luck trying to use the preconditioning via the My Renault app.I stay away from home 2 or 3 nights a week but no charger there and have been trying to precondition while the car is obviously not plugged into charger.Ive been through the Renault e-guides on line and it tells me how to program the car first but I keep getting some random charging times coming up (nothing like the times that I charge) which is stopping me from inputting the correct time I want to do preconditioning.Any help would be most appreciated as it’s driving me up the wall!!

For Megane but expect it will be the same for the Scenic.

Around 2min 22s its shows how to program preconditioning
