EV Charging

Evening everybody!! I’m looking into getting an EV on the scheme but have no off road parking, but my house is built on the side of a hill so is approximately 20 foot higher than the road where I park my car below. Does anyone know if there would be a problem with Motability installing a charging point and running the cable down over the pavement into the car. I’ve looked at the Chargearm online and the clearance of my wire over the pavement far exceeds what they are offering. Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

Ohme won’t install a charger if the charger cable needs go over a public footpath.

Have a search for the Kerbocharge thread for more details.

        The other option is https://professional-electrician.com/features/d-lines-cable-cover-solution-for-on-street-ev-charging/

On street charging needs to be thought through by the Government. It is ridiculous that it is so problematic.

Well done you on taking it on and not dismissing it out of hand. I wish you well with this.

First contact Motability they can help you and or put you in touch with a free Survey which will tell you if you can have a charger put in place they will look at where your fuse board is situated as well. And also if a council tenant or landlord  will also need to be informed.
