Does anyone have any views or drive one of the latest Nissan Qashqai E-Power cars please?
Been driving estates for so long now, currently Corolla TS, I thought I’d try something a little different. Not sure how much difference there is in the N-Connecta and the Tekna grades, also not sure about the glass roof in the N-Connecta.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

test drove the then top of line qashqui without the e power 2 and half years ago before getting the kona. was a nice car, and drove well. build quality was very good too. time constraints and an injury made me cancel and go for an ev

It was OK. Nothing special at all. The seats were not great.
You might want to look at the Volvo XC40 if you can wait about 6 months for delivery. The AP is around the same as the e-power with a lot of included gadgets. A lot more comfortable and pretty much the same size in the back and front seats.
February 14, 2024 at 6:03 pm #258368Its worth pointing out the Qashqai mild hybrid & e-power have gone through a facelift compared to the older generations.
February 14, 2024 at 6:36 pm #258374I have had my QQ epower Tekna for 3 weeks, it took a week to get used to it but now itâs a joy to drive. I like the HUD and not having to change gear, all the Tech you would want is in there the only thing it doesnât do is make the tea?

February 14, 2024 at 7:29 pm #258379The ePower is my sixth Datsun/ Nissan ,& is definitely the best thus far!
Sure, there are bigger cars out there, better equipped, faster, more economical etc etc, depending on your needs, wants, bank balance etc etc etc, but overall this car is a winner, and I have had Jaguars, Cross Country Volvos, Rovers etc etc etc and previously drove 45,000 miles a year.
Each to his own of course, but I have no hesitation in recommending this car, whether driving 45,000 miles or just to the corner shop & back !

I agree, probably not as quick as an f4 Phantom but still a good drive?

February 14, 2024 at 8:28 pm #258384No,  QQ is  not quite as quick, but itâs roomier, quieter and a damn site more economical- of course they are both âautomaticsâ!
February 14, 2024 at 10:23 pm #258390A big thank you to everyone for the help, really appreciated.
Off to actually sit in one tomorrow and check how easy the getting in getting process out is. One thing that spoils my Corolla Touring Sport is that I bang my head every single time I get in the car.

February 15, 2024 at 11:54 am #258444Bright and early this morning I went to have a sit in and look around the Qashqai at my local dealerships. The first problem I had was parking. Although this is a large Nissan dealership, there only seemed to be one disabled parking bay and that was filled with a white Transit van. Every other bay in the dealership was full to. No where to park at all.
I met the Motability sales guy who showed me around the Qashqai, a car which really impressed me, naturally he sat me in the top ‘grade’. I asked about delivery times which weren’t a deal breaker depending on the ‘grade’ and colour I wanted. My biggest problem was when I asked about a test drive. I wanted to drive the car home to make sure it fit in the garage OK but the salesman said only accompanied test drives were allowed. Never had this before.
Not sure now as I wouldn’t change cars without having had a decent test drive. I must admit though that my Corolla TS did feel a little ‘dated’ when I got back in it though.

<p style=”text-align: center;”>You do need to ensure it fits in your Garage, all of the Nissan test drives all Iâve had, across 2 dealerships, were accompanied by the Sales Guy, I would imagine it would be a requirement of the insurance.</p>
Book yourself in for a test drive and ask to go by your garage?? Once youâve driven the QQ you will be hooked.Itâs always difficult to find a parking space at dealers, the place is full of cars???

February 15, 2024 at 4:46 pm #258481I’m sure Diect Line allow 24hr test drives on your Motability insurance, which the dealer sorts out.
February 15, 2024 at 7:07 pm #258499I really canât see why they wont let you have a 24 hour Test Drive- it can not be an insurance issue, otherwise no one would be able to have the use of a loan car when their own car is in for repairs or servicing !
As far as room is concerned, it is lower than my previously car ( Tiguan )both the seat height, and headroom and is narrower in the cabin, but I am 5â10â with restricted movement due to my bottom half being held together by steel plates, rods and screws ( never argue with a parachute, it will always win ) and I can get in and out quite easily!
The doors open wide, especially the rear doors, and the boot is a reasonable size with a flexible floor!
Hope this helps!

February 19, 2024 at 3:32 pm #258815By way of a bit of an update regarding QQ test drives, I spoke to Nissan UK who said ‘extended’ test drives are available at the dealers discretion. I mentioned this to my local dealership and they said to let them know which car I wanted for the ‘extended’ test drive, which I did.
The dealership came back about an hour later and said there were no e-Power QQ cars available in the area An which includes Sheffield of all places. What a complete waste of time. Not really impressed with Nissan.
