You would think after this amount of time car manufacturers would have a heated/warmed tank!, my Ateca has heated washer nozzles, great idea but totally useless when the tank or tubes are frozen 🙁

So far the coldest I’ve got into the Kona EV is -3 and I’ve never had that problem.
I just use a screen wash from B&M.
i had a kona for three years and recently an ioniq 5. this has not happened to either. i use regular supermarket diluted screen wash.

I use Halfords concentrated -20 screenwash, about a£10 for 5l, which lasts for some years.

Tme to drain and refill with better screen wash I think!
But then again, I don’t go out if it’s snowed or is icy (cr@p tyres) and the Enyaq is (hopefully) coming in January so probably not worth bothering 🙂
Actually found a car with worse tyres/traction than mine!, my friend took me out in his Jaguar E-Pace yesterday, even with his “Snow” setting he couldn’t get more than half way into my little estate never mind the small bank up to my corner cul-de-sac!, had to drop me off and I walked the rest of the way, very carefully indeed!. Even my Ateca is better than that!.

I do miss electric screen defrosting though. (down to the chip shortage when I got my Pug 308 GT Premium.)

Well Pug does have heated wipers and screen wash. But the frost has been severe, so still need to use deicer. I keep meaning to get one of the screen covers. I will look on line in the morning.

-5 and snow here this morning when I set off for shopping, the EV is no different to a normal car, except Kia OEM wipers go hard as rocks at just under zero and it heats up much quicker inc. fast windscreen defrost, no need to scrape the screen unless you are in a real hurry.
I am using Prestone -10 screenwash, same as my ice diesel, good to about -6 or 7…failed miserably at -9 last winter.
In life, it's not who you know that's important, it's how your wife found out.

Posted on a C5x forum and apparently no sensor fitted and this is now quite a common practice. If it is I think it’s ridiculous as running out can be bl00dy dangerous.

Yes it’s the same on my Pug 308 GT Premium. No washer level indicator. Which for a top of the range car is bloody annoying to say the least.

Even better press the phone app and car screen is defrosted and inside as warm as set temp in 10 mins no need to be plugged in to do so
No need to warm the engine up first in an EV

A preheated cabin and a windscreen cover are no use if the screenwash is frozen in the bottle, in the pipes and in the nozzles ??
And while an ICE will produce excess heat that was only really effective when the screenwash was mounted on the bulkhead, nowadays they’re all near the very front on the engine bay or under the wing… furthest point from the hot exhaust and most exposed to the cold.
No warning light is annoying but if you’ve got a rear wiper it’ll run out of fluid first so it gives you a little warning to top up
I like Prestones screen wash, and at the moment use it diluted 50/50. It seems to be holding.
And slightly off topic, I use Rain-X to clean all windows and mirrors externally.
