Thanks @kezo and @DumfriesDik. My BP pulse charger was an early one so you can’t program it. I have read the thread that you kindly pointed out which was very helpful. I will speak to Motability again. When I spoke to them last week the chap did say this situation might be something Motability will review in the future. A friend has said they could get hold of a Tesla made charger for me which would be £750 plus fitting. It just seems odd that Motability want to replace a car wheelchair hoist everything 3 years but seemingly at the moment expect the charger to last indefinitely. There will be a lot of customers on their second EV soon as time and the push for EVs goes on. For many who really struggle to use public charging I hope Motability find a solution even if they offer a subsidy like with the wheelchair hoists. Anyway interested to hear views of others and I will speak to Motability again.

An EV charger will essentially last far longer than 3yrs but, as things advance in he future, thats where older ones start to come unstuck.

Motability are apart from replacing BP Pulse chargers due to the 2g sim, they are also replaing Easee chargers ( not as there is anything wrong with them in the UK) to Ohme chargers.

Keep on at Motability, hopefully you will eventually get to speak to someone else who will honour the change.

It may also be worth saying to Motability, you would like another EV but, due to the charger not being able to schedule or allow you to access cheaper charging rates (Octopus) you are having second thoughts about having another!
