Dealers can ask for a deposit or AP upfront. The only downfall is should you choose to cancel further down the line or the vehicle isn’t to standard, you have a battle trying to get the money you put down back. I’d always prefer to pay all monies on collection day and push that is the case or move on to another dealer especially if it was a factory order.
