Hi All
I am sure its been covered before but a search and I couldn’t get a clear answer.
we have received the advance GCB payment of £350 and i know we will get the new car payment of £750 in March when we pick up our new car but is it true that there is also a another £250 GCB payment too when we return the old car?
sorry if this has been covered before
Paul

DavidYes. That’s right, I enquired about this very same thing as my next car is due next month
Basically I have £1000 to come shortly after getting the new car (£750 new car payment + £250 balance of old GCB)
Sounds like you’re in the same position
I too had my £350 last year

desSorry Paul but I’m as confused as you. I got the £350 as well but have no idea what I will get when I renew. Because my brain is mush.
February 14, 2023 at 11:26 pm #209295As David said, you will get the remainder of the GCB (£250) soon after taking delivery of your new vehicle plus a £750 new vehicle payment.
If you did not recieve and early payment of the GCB (£350) you will recieve £600 soon after delivery of your new vehicle.
If you have already recievedd £250 of the new vehicle payment due already having a new lease, you will get the remaining £500 from late February onwards.
February 14, 2023 at 11:26 pm #209296Well I hope David’s right!
we pick ours up 1st March so i will post as soon as we get a payment. the £1000 would be very helpful.

LizI’m confused now.
I have a car already and had the gcb during covid when they paid it.
I am due to collect new car this week so I get a gcb for the new car? So confusedFebruary 27, 2023 at 8:43 am #210443I’m confused now. I have a car already and had the gcb during covid when they paid it. I am due to collect new car this week so I get a gcb for the new car? So confused
I assume you had an early gcb payment of £350 gcb during covid. When you collect you new car next week you will recieve another £250 gcb soon after you pick your new car up, providing its in good condition. For the car you have now the gcb was £600 (350 + 250).
At the same time you will also recieve what is known as a new vehicle payment of £250. After the initial anouncement Motability increased the new vehicle payment to £750. When/after you collect your new car next week you may recieve this £250 and £500 later or £750 in one payment This is different to the gcp.
Details are also available on Motability’s website 🙂
February 27, 2023 at 8:49 am #210444depends on how much covid adv you had, the gcb for a 3r lease is 600 take away your adv and whats left is what you will get as gcb.
bbut there is a new lease pmnt now of £750 which you will get after picking up the car.

Mark PithersIs it a guarantee that we get it as my car is coming up for change but I have a lot of scuffs on the alloys so I assumed I wouldn’t get it or is it rare that the GCB isn’t paid?
I’m struggling to raise the money for the AP on the sort of car I want so every bit I can get makes a difference. I’ve been told I won’t get a grant because my current car is still suitable for my disability but I want to change asap as mine is a diesel but I now only predominately short, local journeys so it’s not great on consumption of fuel.
February 27, 2023 at 10:55 am #210455You should be OK Mark with a few scuffs and scratches as their reasonably lenient and I’ve not know of anyone who hasn’t had it.
If your struggling don’t forget you will get the £750 for being a loyal customer or the same for being a new customer however you won’t get these payment until after you paid the AP of your car so you will need that money put aside for a few weeks.
