@Doris there’s been no further solutions from KIA, but I’d strongly recommend using my method from earlier in the thread as it worked for me.
Just remember that the particles get burned off with hot, “clean” exhaust gasses. By “clean” I mean with as little fuel as possible, i.e. during engine breaking without the engine being offered fuel.
You can always repeat KIA’s recommendation of driving 30mins at high revs, travelling 50mph+. This will get the engine nice and hot. Follow this with coming completely off the accelerator. For this to be effective, you would ideally need a hilly motorway so you won’t slow down too rapidly when letting off the gas during the downhill sections. Also this is only possible if the motorway isn’t very busy. I managed on the M62 heading from West Yorkshire to Blackpool by overtaking vehicles on up hill stretches (using lower than usual gear choices) and as approaching the crest of the hill, I’d move over to the near side lane and completely come off the gas.
I’m having lot’s of problems with this car. Within the last week the multimedia system changed language to Korean, which was quite awkward to get beck to English as I can’t read Korean. Then a couple of days later it forgot all the settings of my wife’s profile. Unfortunately I’ve not backed up my wife’s settings in the KIA Connect App. The boot often won’t shut (it must think that there is an obstruction and bounces back open). The memory seat buttons on the door only work for confirming settings, i.e. when you get in the car you can’t select the seat profile with the door button. You have to wait for the multimedia system to boot up (sometimes fairly quickly, other times VERY long time) and change user that way. It’s awful and dangerous when attempting to reverse up a hill, especially if you are parallel parked with car in front and behind. You have to give it many revs to get it to reverse and as soon as you start to release accelerator it quickly rolls forward.
Many more issues, but as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I really can’t see anything on the scheme that’s worth the money.
