As some sort of consolation I was saying to someone in a Tiguan user forum that I’d wished I’d added the rear camera to my order and that person had just taken delivery of a new Tiguan R-Line with the optional camera and he said he’d wished he hadn’t bother as its the worst camera he’s seen in a car.
I don’t know how much truth is in it but there is talk that VW have been using whatever parts they can get there hands on because of chip shortages and the camera is sub-standard to there usual standards.
They tell me as my car hasn’t been built yet I could still add the camera to my order but don’t want to risk being knocked down the queue a few more months after waiting 11 months with god knows how many months still to go.
