Thanks NosherN. That’s good to hear. Unfortunately, the sports seats would be problematic for us, as I have sciatica and am a big bloke, so the hard sides of the seat bases would be a bit too cosy and the ridge between the fixed base and extendable section is exactly the sort of thing that triggers my discomfort. Also, as my wife has to reverse into the car and sit on the seat edge before swinging around, a less pronounced ridge is preferable. It’s a shame, as we had a 5 Series Touring M-Sport courtesy car some time back and the sports seats were fantastic, but they are much bigger and wider than those in the X1 and less firm. If we had gone ahead and bought the X5, like you have, then we would have been equally happy with the sports seats.
