Currently using a dsg box and must say I’m enjoying it muchly, first time with an auto for 30 odd years not including any plant I’ve driven in various jobs Will not want to go back to a manual either

Same boat here being forced by my newly acquired disability back in 2008 to have to change to auto and that’s been DSG in my 4 cars.

First one in a Golf didn’t have much in the way of engine braking on steep downward hills and had to pop the box into semi automatic with my carer wife doing the shifts if required on downhill bends.?

Second DSG was in a Seat Leon, same box as the Golf but they seem to have improved the engine braking of the box as I had no need to use semi-auto going down steep hills.

Third car was back to the Golf but this time they had added the electronic handbrake with auto-hold and what a brilliant advance that was over my other two DSG’s.

Sad to say my current car is a KIA with DSG and the performance of this box matches the VW versions but lacks the EHB and AH even though I was promised by the dealer that KIA had those items, it didn’t other than an almost worthless 2 second auto-hold and it goes without saying I will be back in the VAG group late next year with the great DSG + EHB + AH and I can get back to a more relaxed way of driving.
