I have a question that I need answered. I just picked up my second Motability car, a Toyota RAV4 dynamic trim FWD. Obviously it has a 21 plate, i did a VIN check and the number said the vehicle was produced in 2018.  Is this normal practice for showrooms to fob off cars they have not been able to sell to Motability clients? I had paid over £4000 in advance payment, so I was expecting a factory fresh car, with the latest technology. I do hope you wonderful people can put me right, or am I just being pedantic?

What’s the 10th character on your VIN, 2018 would be a “J”, “L” 2020 and “M” is 2021

I suggested checking with Toyota because I knew of a VIN on a Vauxhall some years ago that was wrong, unlikely as that may seem.

Thank you all for your advice. I have just received the  certifcate of conformity from Toyota, The VIN number is correct, and the car was produced 01/03/2021.
