So I keep seeing snippets of non Teslas having access to the Supercharger network, is that really a thing?  Is it specific cars, or is it a end goal to allow it?

Certain Tesla charging sites allow none Teslas, I think it was around 10 when it started last year. They are now installing version 4 chargers at new sites, these all have contactless payment which allows any car to charge. Government legislation says all new chargers must be open to all cars and have contactless payment, not sure when this becomes law but Tesla seem to have already implemented it at new sites.

You can also see them on ZappMap, my nearest one is 80 miles away!!!

Here’s a good video explaining how Tesla are opening their network to non Tesla, there are around 30 sites at the moment with another 30 planned in the next year.

Any EV should now be able to use the SuperCharger network as the others have stated but with a premium attached to it – you’ll pay more than Tesla EVs will.
