Got back to UK yesterday, off to A&E this morning (I lead an exciting life!)
Got sent to the Same Day Urgent Care part, saw a very nice chap who stripped everything off and cleaned up the cuts etc. revealing some very nice bruising (some of which only came up after the flight home) and then sent off for a a few X-Rays.
Apparently it hadn’t been set in Palma, they’d just covered it in loads of bandages and the metal splint, didn’t strap it to my middle finger so still pointing off to the right. They’d also missed a bit of bone splintered off my little finger, due to the cuts in both fingers he gave me a load of super strength anti-biotics as well. Re-dressed and taped up temporarily I have to go back tomorrow morning to the Plastic Surgery clinic to let them sort it out.
While we were chatting he noticed the logo on my hoodie for the target shooting club I run, I’ve invited him to come try it at an indoor club I’m also a member of. As a result he made a note on the refferal for them to try and do something about the lack of movement/grip/dexterity as basically they’d probably just dress it properly and say tough luck it’s been 8 days and you’re stuck with it!. So I’ll see what happens in the morning 🙂

Looks nasty mate. Shame they didn’t do it right in Palma with the amont of money it cost, which hopefully the insurance will sort out quickly!

Four hours this morning backwards and forwards between Plastic Surgery and X-Ray.
After multiple attempts at trying to put it back in place it turns out the socket is also fractured and won’t hold the finger in place.
So, they’re not hopeful but have strapped it to the middle finger and put the hand and half the forearm in a cast and been told no driving 🙁
Back for X-Rays again next Weds to see if it’s stayed in place. Just to make things easier my local bus company are on strike for up to 12 weeks!

Well, 4 casts and 4 weeks later, the cast is off, hand looks like Mr Spock so they’ve taped the ring finger to the middle this time.
Still almost no bending in ring or little fingers so exercises to do for a few weeks to see what happens, back in 2 weeks for a progress check.
Good news is I can drive again 🙂 Just got back home and my cat was straight over to give it a good sniffing now the cast is off, so at least I’ve had a clear Cat Scan 😀

Starting to hurt now there’s no cast supporting the fingers. None of them line up where they’re supposed to be! Hopefully they’ll settle down in the next few weeks.
My ex just messaged and said “Well, you’ll not be doing that again!”
I had to tell her that I’d just booked up for another week in Majorca next April, taking my friends away as a treat while we’re all still alive!!! 😀
