The official Motability line is that you pay the Advance Payment (AP) in force at the time the order is placed – no matter when the vehicle is delivered.

Some dealers will permit the customer to cancel and re-order should the AP subsequently drop, as, other than some administrative time, it costs them little or nothing to do so. The dealership still gets paid the same amount by Motability, no matter what AP is paid by the customer. However, some dealers will not do this and adopt Motability’s line.

Ideally, it is something to get in writing from the dealership when ordering. If the dealer won’t, you are free to go to another dealership that may do this.

However, as you have already ordered, it may be worth re-contacting your dealer and asking if they will do this and try to get it in writing from them.

You can try but the individual dealer dont have to honour it .

Thank you for your replies l can’t really see that the car will be reduced in AP BMW  X1 Xline Xdrive  as looking back at past APs on the car it seems to be pretty consistent in advanced payment
