Hi ive been awarded £999 towards an suv as my fiesta i have now is too small and i find it difficult to get in and out of i wasnt aware of the grant back when i ordered it and i couldnt afford what i needed at the time my question is ive seen a car and its £2695 advance payment with the £999 from the grants and £750 new car payment can i put towards the rest my 40th birthday is coming up and family said they would pay the rest between them as a gift would this be allowed i read somewhere you can only add 50% on top of the grant awarded thanks

Thats correct you can only add a maximum of 50% to the award Tking into account the £750 new car payment andtopping up the award by 50% it only gives you £2250 leaving you £445 short!
You grants manager is likely to say no but, its worth speaking with them and askng them if you can the £445 ontop of everying else. You could also suggest that your likely to keep the car 5yrs to see if thats makes a difference, whether you are or not is irrelevant.

Thats nasty but, they are pigs anyway.
Perhaps having the £750 in the bank, rather than towards AP may have worked out better?
