Hi, I’ve had my letter to renew my lease, Question on the rules on mileage, is there a hard cut off at 15k miles being able to extend for a year? We are on about 20K would Motability allow us to extend due to the current climate.

i would say your ok, on the mota website they seem to say they will extend for as long as necessary due to the wait times etc and theres no mention of mileage limits. i would just give them a ring and ask but i dont think you will have a problem. unless your desperate to change, apart from the new focus the ap’s at the moment are rediculous so unless there was a compelling reason to change i would extend and see what happens.

extend for the full 2 years, you can then jump in at any time during that 2 years if something comes up at a reasonable price.

Ring Motability, they will almost certainly be happy to extend your lease. There is no hard cut off being applied at the moment due to the more limited supply of vehicles. Even before the shortage occurred I extended my lease by two years with approx 26,000 on the clock.

Extend for two years because you can cancel the extension at any time.

We once extended around 20,000, they’re happy to extend, it makes them a massive profit.

I am due to order a new car in June and i would happily extend my lease but not at the full price, why should you pay full wack for a 3yr old car.

I extended my lease over chat – JIC you find phone calls stressful.  They gave the impression that mine was almost automatic as I had paid a high AP regardless of mileage.

I believe the AP price is factored in too, don’t think I’ve seen it in writing on the Motability web site but sure its been mentioned here and elsewhere.

Long time lurker here – just to add we extended on our VW Transporter Shuttle this week with 39k on with absolutely no issues doing the extension. Think our AP was around £4k 3 years ago.

I thought I would give this feed a bit of an update. I’ve been online today and they have a section you can opt to extend with a quick tick of the box no questions on milage etc. was about 3o seconds.

I extended 2 years ago when I had 17,000 on clock plus couldn’t afford to change. My lease runs out next week (now had 5 years) they have extended mine for another 6 months but said I can’t do more than that. So I shouldn’t seeing this being an issue with such issues going on with the scheme at the moment
