Hi, does anyone know if I can cancel my motability car? (first one) Placed an order for the tiguan paid the ap in full. However I think the car is lost in the system so to speak.

I received a text saying that the car left the factory last week(5a) Not heard anything since. Spoke to vw customer service and they said its left the factory. And it was supposedly allocated a ship on the 10th. I’ve read the vw forums and other people have received stages 5b and 5c within a couple of days. Has anyone else had the same situation with ordering from vw.

If I cancel would I get the ap back?

There was no need to pay the AP up front, its not required until you pick the car up. But, that said why exactly do you want to cancel at this late stage?

You can cancel at any stage up to taking delivery, as stated above there was no need to pay the AP up front but yes you would get it back. If you paid for any extras however you would not get that part back.

I’d try and get more information on expected delivery date before making any rash decisions.

If I seem a little strange, that's because I am.

Why don’t you not want to wait if the cars on its way,

you certainly can cancel yes, also if you do you should get your AP back, in future tell any dealer motability warns about paying for anything but optional extras up front, the AP is paid on the day of collecting after inspecting the car and the dealer ticking off his check sheet so you can tell if it’s the right car for you.

If you really want the car all you need is a little more patience and it’ll be with you before you know it

don’t read too much into any texts alerts or the VW tracker

the car is built, been shipped over so it’s only a matter of time before you get a call to arrange your pick up date

if you’ve waited all this time, a wee or 2 more won’t make much difference

much better than cancelling and reordering and waiting another possible 3/4 months

<p style=”text-align: left;”>Thanks everyone for your input, it’s my first time ordering a car so I haven’t a clue what the process involves. I paid the ap as I thought its best to get it out of the way and then that’s one less thing to worry about. I’ve got ocd when it comes to parcel deliveries at the best of times.</p>
I’m not expecting it to magically appear, it’d just be nice to be kept in the loop so to speak. It’s just annoying that you read other people have had more notifications in the space of 2 days than I have within over a week.

Have you actually had any communication with your dealer on it yet? If not then given them a call  explain your concern, and have them give you an update.

That may help to fill in the blanks bud.

You could also give motabilty a call to customer services and explain your concerns to them. Let them do the running around for you.  They are open from 9.00am until 13.00pm today Saturday. 0300 456 4566

                        Hi Daniel.

new to the forum, I’m also in the same boat currently waiting for a tiguan from emdem. Received notification that it left the factory but waiting to hear back. I’ve read that the app isn’t that reliable. I’m sure that they will arrive soon enough. Luckily for me I’ve got a family holiday in two weeks so I’ve got something to get my mind off thinking about it.
