BMW X2 MISSING ALLOY KEY

I collected my new BMW X2 at the end of January this year.

I’m just back from Kwik Fit as I have a puncture,

They had ordered a new tyre on Friday for delivery today but it never arrived and they blamed bank holiday ,however we discovered that BMW never supplied me with an Alloy Key.

They told me car dealerships are closed just now but to phone motability to arrange for me to get an Alloy Key and then take car back to them to get tyre changed.

i phoned motability but they are closed for holiday Monday.

I’m away to e mail the motability salesman who I dealt with to let him know.

I’m due back at work on Thursday but kwik fit said it’s ok to drive but no more than 50mph ,but dash board is lit up.

Any BMW owners should check their boot for Alloy Key.

        I’ve got an update.

I e mailed parks motor group and they phoned me back.

I’ve to take my car into their workshop tomorrow morning and they will take off the locking nut with one that doesn’t so that kwik fit can change the tyre.

        great service from Douglas Park!

Just been and checked that I have my Wheel unlocking nut in the car X2 and yes it’s there.

John where did you look for your wheel lock nut ?

I am surprised that you did not get one. You still need one though.

I know BMW record every single thing on your car but I suspect the alloy wheel lock nuts won’t be on the list. I assume Parks will have to order a complete set and replace them all for you.

There is a work around but it involves a big hammer ?

Parks said it will be a couple of weeks to get a new alloy key.

i emptied the boot including a side pocket.

                even checked the glove box.

At least it will get sorted tomorrow!

                thanks for your replies ??

I usually find the lock nut in the same [plastic] bag that the wheelnuts they replaced with lock nuts are kept

My Touran never came with an inflator kit. Never thought much of it as I thought it had the Conti self sealing tyres. But at its recent service the technician said it was missing and needed putting pack. So now I’m wondering if it should of had one all along.

have you looked in the glove box and
Under the car seats – some cars have hidden compartments under the seats
Pockets at the back of the front seats
                      Cup holders
                      Door pockets
                      Ash tray
Boot – including all the separate compartments and first aid kit if you have one
                      Under the boot carpet
                      Under the spare wheel
