My Ohme home charger is supposed to be capable of charging at 7kW but recently I’ve noticed on my i4 that it’s only been charging at 4kW, I’ve set the charging at 32A which is the highest it can be set at on the BMW app but it doesn’t change that it consistently charges at only 4kW. Does anyone know why that may be or anyone noticed the same issue?

Ours was dropping to around 6 when other devices were on.

Do you think its always charged at 4kW?

In the Ohme app take a picture up of the advanced settings page, whils’t boiling the kettle!

If its always charged at 4kW, it could be a problem with the CT clamp causing load balancing, which will throttle the charge output. Most likely scenario, is the CT clamp has been put on the wrong way round.

          did you get yours sorted?

@Kezo I think it has always been charging at 4kW, to be fair I didn’t really pay attention but in recent months I’ve looked at the screen in the car and noticed it, I doubt it was ever at it’s maximum 7kW.

I will probably contact Ohme to see what they can do.

Look on the CT clamp for an arrow, The arrow needs to be pointing away from the meter and pointing towards your consumer unit. If it isn’t, just unclip it and turn it around, so the arrow is facing the right direction. Trust unlce kezo, you will not blow yourself up😂
