Surely quick charging the battery too many times will shorten the lifetime of the batteries?
This is why EVs often have much lower charge speeds than that available from a rapid charger.
i3 will pull around 45kW upto over 80%
Ioniq 38 will pull around 47kW then slow right down over 50% charge
etc.
They all slow down the charge speed as the battery warms up, and aim to stop any of the cells getting near to their full capacity as the BMS reports the voltages. To get a full charge you’d need to use the built in AC charger (7kW) which will take all the cells upto a point where one cell reports a particular voltage before the BMS tries to get all the other cells upto that voltage too by bleeding off an amount of current to the cells which are at the higher voltages (which takes time but needs to be done often enough that you can get away with an occasional rapid charge).
