I’ve had the cla shooting brake for 3 years and tempted with either this or the Tiguan r line. My main concern is the wheels – on my current car I have to claim 3 times for alloys – 7 cracked or buckled!!! Complained to Mercedes how poor the alloys are but with no success. Also as the boot is smaller I will have to see how wheel my Mrs wheelchair goes in. I wonder if the shooting brake will be added shortly?
this is my gripe with mercedes and why I would not have another one, my last one the wheel had a dodgy buckle that you would only feel between 50 and 70 mpg (and you would have to do 76mph to get past it).. mercedes could not find a problem, yet in 8 months I had 2 new tires on same wheel.. then despite me complaining to motability and mercedes I got a phone call from motability and they were concerned I had had 2 new front tires within 8 months… GRRRR I actually blew a brain cell and slammed the phone down. Then rang up 2 days later going through the whole story with them, Then they just said it would be better all round if I just changed car early as mercedes were fighting them on it, hence despite me thinking mercs look nice I would never get another.
BMW 2 cars after that and then I got the Tiguan R line, why it may not be as well handling as the other brands it does handle in the R – line spec better than I thought a SUV could and thanks to the tech, long drives are a lot more relaxing than they ever were… to get these extra features on a BMW would of been about 5000+ and on the merc about 4000. So a no brainer for me, I let the brain do the deciding rather than the heart and I am so glad I did.
