As I’ve mentioned above my 4 Motability cars have all been a learning curve for me?
With the first car and being newly disabled I was just glad to be back on the road and much the same with the second car.
Time goes by and after 5 years of disabled driving I begin, yes it dawn on me eventually, what would make the car easier for me to drive.
So with my third car I had keyless entry and this really did help me.
My current car does not have keyless and it took a couple of months getting use to that but now I don’t even think about it.
I thought heated seats would be God sent for me because I clam up when I get into a cold car in Winter and while heated seats I’ve now learned its something I’m not over whelmed by and would not pay extra for it in future and to me the keyless was far better option than heated seats but if I could afford I’d have both.
My third car (VW Golf) had electronic hand brake linked to auto hold with DSG box and they work together perfectly and is something I really miss and while my current car has auto hold it only holds for two seconds while the VW version will hold for as long as necessary. Its this that make me think I will be going back to VAG next time unless KIA up their game on their mechanicals and electronics.
So for me some things have been useful while others I could get by without but I really wish I could test drive cars before I commit myself but as things are for me I only get a 3 year test drive before I can test something else.
