Phil in the next say five years BEVs will be as cheap as ICE cars so that is maybe the sweet spot for the scheme. I was looking at the Volvo XC40 Hybrid on the Volvo website and thats coming in at just over £40,000. It does about 25-30 miles on a single charge, it should always be remembered that if you do mostly city driving EVs are at thier most efficient or at least give the longest range.
This would be fine for me but not sure what the AP would be, i would probably save about £400 per year in fuel, maybe more, if i keep the XC60 till next year thats a further £900 good condition bonus. Could be looking at a three years saving of about £1200-£1500 plus £900, so between £2100 and £2400 to play with ……………………………………..mmmmmmmm
