    Hi Bert

im guessing what you mean by the stock sharan is the one already on their system and they have Allocated to you.

firstly the salesperson is “sitting” on it and only put it on their internal system with VW. Which just reserves/allocates an available vehicle to that dealership or is one already committed to them to fulfill the dealers quota. They are not able to put the order through with Motability until the 31st july at earliest.

secondly even if the vehicle is in stock or delivered before your change over date you have to wait until the 1st November. The only way around this is an early termination. This involves a legitimate reason for the change (i.e. Need to change to an auto due to condition etc) but this reason stays on your file for future reference, you would also forfeit your £600 good condition bonus and may be charged £250 early termination fee.

thirdly you can cancel at any point, but if you are having doubts then I would cancel before it’s put on Motability system. Any deposit paid is fully refundable and the dealership can not charge you anything, no matter what you’ve signed their contract is with Motability and can not be taken into account until it’s on Motability system and is approved.

A few things to consider, you say you would rather wait until the stock vehicle arrives, if you cancel it then that vehicle can be reallocated to someone else or maybe even another dealership, don’t settle for what you can get Only settle for what you want.

My personal opinion is, taking into account you can order at any point from next week and even if you’ve not made a decision or your chosen vehicle arrives after 1st November you can extend or you will remain with your current car until another arrives irrelevant of dates, and the fact a new registration is due a lot of dealerships are trying to of load vehicles, you are in a great position to stand a chance of getting a choice of stock vehicles coming up and some great savings on AP’s (£600 off some VW) I would cancel and do a bit more researching. You have plenty of time to choose don’t be pressured by a dealership only trying to help fulfill this months targets and notch up a sale.

take your time make sure your happy with everything choosing the right car for 3 years should be enjoyable.
