Adaptive cruise control is a must for me , as an amputee of 50 years my remaining ankle is becoming weaker and with ACC I can drive on motorway using steering wheel control by reducing/increasing speeds without using brake pedal and putting no pressure on my ankle. Salesman at VW told me to try it in town and so I did and its brilliant , follows the speed of the car in front -stops on its own-engine switches off and then starts when car in front moves-all I do is touch accelerator and off it goes following vehicle in front. Iv’e had this on my Golfs for 6 years and ordered Tig because it has ACC.
I understand that the ford focus active x has it and takes it a stage further and starts itself and moves off without touching the accelerator. to disengage just touch brake or cancel on steering wheel.
Anything that helps my disability is fine with me
