chrisk, i agree to a point and it ought to be easier to sort the good from the idiots especially with the various black boxes etc that are available to monitor drivers. however the fact remains that under 25s are a high risk as a group. i remember back in 1980 when i passed my test i was paying per year more than i paid for the car i was driving but it was the only option and theres no way i could have afforded a brand new car.
todays attitude is so different and i say this is accross all age groups not just the young and that is that i am entitled no longer is there any acceptance that they will live within their means but that they are entitled to the latest toy be it the latest phone, laptop or a brand new souped up car.
that said i do think motability do need a mechanism where if a young persons disabled needs can only be met by a higher grade car then there ought to be that degree of flexibility. however in general i do think there is a choice available all be it a restricted one for under 25s. its not as if theres no vehicle available at all.
