I stopped checking years ago when I realised that manufacturers lie through their teeth about mpg and got sick of being disappointed and wondering if I was doing something wrong (I wasn’t).
The only barometer I use now is cash, I use about £20 a week for just commuting and the usual pottering about. If we go gallivanting then obviously more.
