Although not yet promulgated on the ‘Motability Changes’ webpage, I am grateful to a Motability user who yesterday (13th March 26) forwarded me their e-mail from Motability Operations, basically stating that from yesterday 13th March 26, the option to lease a lightweight manual wheelchair for £100 with a new Motability vehicle has now ceased.
If a customer already has such a manual wheelchair under this offer, they can either keep the wheelchair at the end of their vehicle lease or return it with their vehicle.
This is also published on the Motability Dealer website. One thing to note is that if someone has ordered a Lightweight Manual Wheelchair (LMW) to go with their new vehicle but has not yet taken delivery of the vehicle, they will not get the wheelchair and instead will get the £100 refunded (if already paid no doubt).
