I am leaving the Motability scheme tomorrow after 12 years. We have a special needs daughter and my wife was the appointee for PIP. My wife has never driven a car and I was the main driver, so in 12 years there has been only myself that has driven the car. Direct Line has sent me a letter with my no claims history, and I got a telephone quote for my new private car from Direct Line who said they would accept the full 12 years no claims history bonus. The quote was very expensive, and was told to try comparison web sites. Looking at two comparison web sites there was a vast variation in the prices between insurance companies. I have taken insurance out with Admiral, a Gold policy with zero no claims bonus but at nearly £250 cheaper than the price of the Direct Line with full no claims, same excess cost and cover.

I was with Direct Line for many years before Motability and they were very fair and didnt rip yo off.
But that is excellent news for a change..good result.
